Jamie’s Ministry of Food Australia, an initiative which aims to build practical cooking skills in local communities around Australia, has been the recipient of donations made from The Good Guys Albury’s Local Giving Program since 2010, and with the program’s Victorian Mobile Kitchen heading to the region, the benefits of the initiative are set to impact our local community.
“Our programs, which are designed to provide the necessary cooking skills for people to be able to prepare nutritious, delicious and of course healthy meals everyday, rely greatly on donations from the community,” said a spokesperson from Jamie’s Ministry of Food Australia.
“Our trainers see first hand the impact the classes make on the local communities that we visit. We are looking forward to heading to Albury and having some of The Good Guys team come and visit.”
With The Good Guys Local Giving Program having donated more than $6 million nationally towards local community partners such as the Jamie’s Ministry of Food Mobile Kitchen and the Albury Base Hospital Auxiliary, Proprietor of The Good Guys Albury Luke Sims says he has every customer to thank for helping the team hit this big six.
“We always invite customers to join in and have their say as to where the funding from the Local Giving Program is distributed,” said Luke. “We do this by providing a heart shaped Token at the checkout which can be placed into the Token Box for our nominated Cause Partners.”
“It is just a way to put some good back into our local community where our customers and employees work and live,” he said.
